One Sober Human is a peer-based recovery practice.

In the broader field, this work shows up under names like peer support or recovery coaching. The language varies, but the idea is steady: trained people with lived experience helping others find their way out of addiction.

I’m a former technology entrepreneur and executive. I found sobriety after reaching a version of life that looked successful from the outside and felt empty and unsustainable from the inside.

When I finally sought help, I ran into confusion, delays, and unnecessary barriers. That experience shaped this work. One Sober Human exists to make getting help more direct, more human, and more effective.

Peer recovery is built on shared experience.

Someone who has lived through addiction, and is properly trained, can meet you in a way that feels real from the start. That changes the conversation. It lowers barriers, cuts through confusion, and helps you move faster toward something better.

Whether you call it sobriety, recovery, or simply getting your life back, the work stays the same.

People come in with different goals.

Some want complete sobriety. Some are still figuring that out. We’ll be honest about what works and what doesn’t, and we’ll decide on a direction together.

My personal path is abstinence. In certain situations, harm reduction can play a role early on. What matters most is building something that actually holds up in your real life.

The work starts with listening.

I’m not here to hand you a script. I’m here to understand what’s happening in your life, reflect it back clearly, and help you take the next step forward.

At the same time, this isn’t passive. I’ll help you avoid dead-ends, connect you to the right resources when needed, and keep things moving.

You can think of me as a central point of contact in your recovery. A steady presence who helps you navigate decisions, stay grounded, and build momentum.

I work with people at every stage, including those who are still unsure if they have a problem with alcohol.

For many, this is the first real step. For others, it’s a reset after things haven’t worked elsewhere.

I also work with treatment centers and recovery organizations as a contracted Recovery Specialist, supporting both clients and staff.

All of the above.

I work remotely with clients across the country. Locally, we can meet in person or connect virtually.

In certain cases, I travel and work as a full-time sober companion for a set period. That’s a more intensive engagement and handled separately.
